I used to rip my dvds to my laptop with a ripper that had deinterlace and two pass filter options and used to let you set the bit rate, the results were much better than the original without any editing but i dont remember what it was called after that laptop broke.i use winx dvd ripper platinum now.Īlso when i try and import file into sound forge pro it comes up with an error message saying unable to open file system maybe low on memory,or something similar to that.
Thank you for the reply,i dont know what frame rate or resolution my videos are but i have used colour corrections and other plugins with some good results, there is a lot of information you have provided that i will try and get back to you, when i use the internet 480 4.3 of internet 48o widescreen will the video be full screen on youtube?usually i disable maintain aspect ratio and slide the picture "in" a little to make it full screen.
It would make more sense to output using the Internet 480p 4:3 or Internet 480p widescreen (if source video is widescreen) templates. If your video is actually 720 x 480 (4:3) "square style", there is no point in trying to use an HD template. When it is time to render your video, the default Mainconcept AVC/AAC Internet templates are already customised to output good video. If the sound is much "wider" and changes in frequency during the audio track, the Noise Reduction tool may not work as well.
When you have the Noise Reduction window open, you can press the ? in top right corner, and then Help file will open and tell you how to use it. You then capture a sample noise print of the sound you want to remove.įinally you apply the noise print sample to the entire audio track and it subtracts the sound. To use this tool properly, you need to find a blank area in the audio track where you only hear the noise. If you have Sound Forge Pro, have you tried using the Noise Reduction plugin ? There is a Vegas version of this FX plugin you can buy.Īudio Noise can be an easy thing to fix and also a difficult thing to fix, depending on the sound. If there is "video noise" in your old video, there is an excellent plugin you can buy that will help to reduce this. I have a beginners tutorial on how to use the Colour Correction tools in Vegas Pro here: Have you been applying any "video de-noise" filters ? Have you been applying colour correction ? What have you been doing to the old video to try and improve it ? If it is old VHS video that was converted to DVD format, I would imagine the video is 4:3 Aspect Ratio standard definition video ? What Frame Size / Resolution is your DVD quality video ? Meaning, your final video can only be as good as the original source video. There is an old saying "garbage in, garbage out". Your render settings are not going to be able to magically improve video that has been converted from old VHS tape to DVD. I was in the middle of reading your message for the first time, when I realised something terrible had happened to the forum after a software update.
Thanks for recreating your account and re-posting your message. Hi new member to the forum, I have been using Vegas pro since version 11(i have tried all versions up to 14) to convert old VHS tapes that had been burned on to DVDs to clean up on Vegas before ending up on YouTube, my results have varied, all my videos have sound hiss problems which i edit using the resonant filter with mixed results would i be better using sound forge pro? but it’s the picture quality that i can never be sure with, I’ve tried all the settings from various YouTube tutorials but most people are only interested in fast rendering times and small file size, I’m not bothered about that, I want the best picture quality possible for YouTube and don’t care if it takes a day to render or is a massive file as long as its within YouTube limits I’m fine with that, I’m using Samsung core i7 laptop with top specs, I’ve also noticed i used to get best results using Vegas 11 on a lower spec laptop compared to other versions of Vegas, what are the best templates in my case and would i be better using another software to enhance the clip before bringing to Vegas? My clips vary between 10 to 25 mins in length.
